Paint Protection Film (PPF) Warranty & Aftercare 

City Auto Detail LTD 

This policy explains the warranty coverage and care requirements for Paint Protection Film (PPF) installations carried out by City Auto Detail LTD. 

 

Warranty Coverage 

Our PPF installations are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty where applicable. Warranty length may vary depending on the brand of film used. 

Typical manufacturer warranties may cover: 

• Yellowing 

• Cracking 

• Delamination 

• Bubbling not caused by external damage 

The warranty applies only to material defects and does not cover damage caused by misuse or improper care. 

Warranty claims are subject to inspection and approval by the film manufacturer. 

 

Installation Warranty 

We provide a workmanship warranty of 12 months on all PPF installations. 

This covers: 

• Installation defects 

• Lifting edges caused by installation error 

• Adhesion issues related to installation 

This does not cover damage caused after installation. 

 

What Is Not Covered 

The following are not covered under warranty: 

• Stone chips or road debris damage 

• Accidents or impact damage 

• Improper washing or maintenance 

• Use of harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning methods 

• Damage from automatic car washes with brushes 

• Tampering with or removal of the film by third parties 

 

Initial Curing Period 

After installation: 

• Small bubbles or moisture pockets may appear 

• These typically disappear within 7–21 days 

During this time: 

• Do not wash the vehicle 

• Avoid high-pressure washing 

• Avoid touching or pressing film edges 

 

PPF Aftercare Instructions 

To maintain the performance of your PPF: 

First 7 Days 

• Do not wash the vehicle 

• Avoid heavy rain if possible 

• Do not pressure wash edges 

Ongoing Care 

Recommended maintenance: 

• Hand wash using pH neutral shampoo 

• Use soft microfiber wash mitts 

• Avoid automatic brush car washes 

• Avoid harsh solvents or petroleum-based cleaners 

 

Maintenance 

Regular maintenance detailing will help prolong the life and appearance of PPF. 

We recommend yearly annual inspections to check edges and film condition. 

 

Warranty Claims 

To make a warranty claim: 

1. Contact us within 7 days of noticing the issue 

1. Provide photos and vehicle details 

1. Bring the vehicle for inspection if requested 

Repairs or replacements will be carried out where warranty conditions are met.
